Where is the conference being held?

The 30th International Applied Geochemistry Symposium is being held predominantly at the Adelaide Convention Centre, but there are various activities being held Off-site. Please visit the program to find out more details on this.

Will it be live-streamed? 

No, there will be a 'volume' of presentations released in written form following the Symposium

Do I need to register if I am a speaker? 

Yes, speakers need to register under the Member/Speaker/Sponsor option

Will I get a confirmation email for my registration?

Yes, a registration confirmation email and a payment receipt are automatically emailed out to you within 24 hours after the completion of your registration.

For group registrations, this email is sent to the person to whom the registration charges are billed.

Please check your spam inbox if you cannot locate this email in your normal inbox.

When will I get my lanyard/name badge if i'm attending in person?

We will endeavour to register you at the Icebreaker event the night before, if you are not attending the Icebreaker, you will need to visit the registration desk at the venue.

Will I get CPD points for attending the symposium?

You, you will be issued with a digital certificate of attendance where you can claim CPD hours - 24 CPD hours for the conference plus 8 CPD hours per day of the workshops.

What is the dress code for the symposium?

The symposium is business casual and the Gala dinner is semi-formal

What is the symposium refund policy?

FULL REFUND - If the symposium is postponed* or cancelled / If requested >30 days prior to the event.

50% REFUND - If requested within 14 to 30 days prior to the event

NO REFUND - If requested <14 days prior to the event

NB: If a registrant is unable to attend, by arrangement, they can nominate someone else to attend in their place. *Tickets can be held for the later date, if preferred.

Is there parking available at the Convention Centre? 

The Adelaide Convention Centre offers convenient parking across two cashless car parks: the Riverbank Car Park (400 spaces, 1.95m clearance) and the North Terrace Car Park (300 spaces, 2.0m clearance). Casual rates start at $8.50 per hour, and an early bird rate of $18.00 is available. Both car parks operate 24/7, and accessible parking is provided on each level. Payment is accepted via credit/debit cards and digital wallets.

The Adelaide Convention Centre is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Adelaide Airport. The city is highly accessible, offering a walkable layout and extensive public transport options, including free tram travel within the city center. For those using taxis or rideshares, there’s a dedicated pick-up and drop-off zone at the main entrance on North Terrace. Adelaide’s public transport system, operated by Adelaide Metro, includes buses, trains, and trams.

Is there a facility for my children to be looked after while i'm at the symposium?

Yes, we have enlisted 'The Nanny Diary' as our helpers, who will be taking care of your children in a specially curated room at The Embassy hotel, a short walk over the road.

How can I attend the Student Reception?

We will be personally inviting certain delegates within the week prior to the symposium. Predominantly, you must be a student, or a representative of our sponsor Teck Resources.

Can I attend the IAGS social events?

Yes, you must be a delegate of the symposium to be able to attend these events

GeoHUG Social - Monday, October 14

After Party - Friday, October 18

What is the timezone on the symposium App?

The timezone will be based on your current location. Therefore, session times shown are based on where you are. Please check the official program for session times in local Adelaide time.

Who runs the symposium?

The symposium is designed and coordinated by a Local Organising Committee comprising of various professionals within the industry
